Milliande Artist Date Challenges

~ I have been hearing a lot about people chasing their muse, feeling in a creative block , uneasy to start projects that seem out of reach and generally just looking for inspiration

~ I first noticed "Artist Dates" mentioned in Julia Camerons Book of the same name ... but a lot of people find it hard to motivate themselves to actually "DO IT " rather than just read about it, think it great and then let it wash down the stream of thoughts that enter the mind and exit just as fast

~ Taking time out for Art is often seen as a secondary priority and often ends up even further down the list of "Have to's

~ Another time there is soo much inspiration, so many possible arty avenues , so many started and never finished projects that it seems like navigating this maze turns into a struggle rather than fun

~ Making a commitment to nurture yourself can be a very liberating starting point on your personal journey to honor your creative self

~ Now Letha and I have been talking - and she mentioned that sometimes it takes a little push for people to get creative, an incentive , a challenge that helps break out of the daily rhythm of "Have to's" and embrace "ME TIME "
~ Taking the "Artist Date" idea a little further,
I would like to offer "Milliande Artist Dates " for Milliande Creativity Club Members

For these 2 weeks we are playing with the colour combo turquoise and orange Create 3 art pieces ( they can be small , or parts eventually to be collaged, or mosaic pieces etc ) ~ one piece in the colour orange ~ one piece in the colour turquoise

~ and one piece combining both colours

•Shells by the Seashore

~ The Art Journalers are playing with Lighthouses and The Printblock with Seashells ... so lets join them, its sounds sooo much fun


a little seaside inspiration from ABIKAT -
Let your mind wonder the beach at dusk as the sun sets on the horizon. Feel the sand beneath your bare toes. Smell the sea breeze that blows in your hair. Let your mind relax as you imagine yourself sitting in a lounge chair as you watch and listen to all the sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore. Search the sands for your inspiration and fill your heart with the wonder of creation.

~ the twinchies ( Shade of White) challenge has sparked a lot of inspiration ...lets continue be inspired to create in Shades of White

~ Be inspired by a Photo Collage of Shades of White

~ Let the images "talk " to you, tell you their stories ..sit a little while and listen

~ from that space of "listening" let an image arise,

make a collage using the images below or make an artwork taking one of the images to tell a story , or take some fibres and beads to felt a story in white , or paint with some acrylics sticking to a limited palette of natural whites, or grab your camera to feature your own photo images in a White Photocollage, or take an object and created an altered art piece featuring SHADES OF WHITE .. the sky is your limit ... OR NOT :-)

•Story of a Postage Stamp

~ create an artwork that features a postage stamp ( a real one)

~ tell the "stamps" visual story .... ( this maybe about the picture of the stamps, how it came to be in your possession, its possible travel adventures, who designed the stamp and why , a stroy about the imagined life of a stamp ..... anything goes ..etc .... let your imagination fly ... ( this has not got to be a real story .... but it can be ... )

~ you can choose any medium you like, collage, painting, sewing , digitizing etc ....
