Altoid tin cans

by Francesca
(CA)

Hello Milliande,
I love your videos and watch them a couple times during my little time on you tube. I have a question. I have a couple of altoid tins and I would like to do altered art with it. Do you have any ideas as far as how to emboss the tins or cover the outside..
Thank you

\P.S. I love making dolls and one of my ideas is to make a house for a miniature doll and altered the can.
Francesca

HI Francesa

I know a lot of people use Tim Holtzs inks to decorate the tins..they come in several colors and adhere to metal ... so that could be fun .

Also some softer altoid tins can be decorated by embossing them with a ballpoint tool ..or those little styles for metal craft ... they also used to be used for Parchemnt craft ... the stylus comes in several sizes for different impressions

Old fabric tracing wheels can also leave fun impressions ...

For making minature altars and altered tin housed use a strong metal glue that can both adhere metal and paper and you can decoupage any collage papers on to it ... the options are really endless

hope this helps

lets see whether other members have some fun ideas too :-)
