For my Entry into the Art Cultures from around the World Art Journal Theme by Lizzie I chose Egypt and its rich culture.

I have long been fascinated by this ancient culture, its amazing wall drawings found in egyptian temples and tombs and the hieroglyphic almost picturesque language used to communicate intricate details of life in egypt .

Have been fortunate to visit Egypt 3 times I included some egyptian papyrus into the art journal which I bought back from my travels.

I used distress inks and a set of egyptian hieroglyph stamps to create the tomb like background, some papyrus and a pen and ink drawing of an eye of horus ... and embellished with gold accents as gold and gold leaf seem to be featured in many egyptian artworks and even the great pyramid a giza is said to have had a pure gold top at one point in history ...

The rest I embellished to suit my mood :-)

Thanks for the playtime in your journal
