Art Journal Prompts 2011 Day 4 Prompt Zebra Face by Janeen Duer

Faber Castell grey brush marker assortment
H and B pencils
red colored pencil
Ny 5.5" x 8" in Strathmore Drawing Visual Journal

A single page started and finished by me in a single day inspired by the 2011 Journal January Day 4 prompt; I marked this event on the calendar! My little journal is only recommended for sketching, nothing really wet or the paper just buckles and drips through to the next page.

The face in the center is a stamp called Tin Can Mail by Inkadinkadoo. I did the zebra stripes with Faber-Castel brush markers in shades of grey and just a touch here in there on the stamped face. I added a pencil shading to deepen the stamped shadowed placed and the ring around the face. I added add a hint of red colored pencil on the lips, but it barely shows in the scan.

I'm going to attempt this prompt again on canvas using wet media. Looking forward for some free time to try it out!
