Mixed Media Art Question
Hi Milliande
I'm trying to catch up with your art journal videos, but I'm still only at day 7. In day 7 you use a pen for the ink (to draw the face and the circles). Can you please tell me what kind of pen it is? It looks as if it writes really easily, but I can't find it in your list of supplies.
Thnx!!

Hi ,
I am glad you are enjoying the art journaling videos... there is no need to hurry I will not take them down... so please feel free to play at your own speed
The pen I use is a dipping pen .. with a holder and a nib attached to it that is exchangable ..
These kind of dipping pens are traditionally used in calligraphy writing and pen and ink drawing work...
My particular dipping pen is from Italy, I bought it when I attended an art retreat there .. they are know for making beautiful diping pen holders and calligraphy inks...
However most art supplies stores that carry calligraphy art materials will stock some form of diping pen, sometimes also referred to as mapping pen ..and various nibs that create different lines, thicker, thinner lines but also decorative lines that are used in decorative calligraphy writing
I use mine with either watersoluble or waterproof india ink depending on what effect I would like to achieve..and also with Daler Rowney acrylic inks on top of my mixed media backgrounds and art journaling etc
hope this helps

I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.
Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.
The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.
Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
