Mixed Media Art Questions for Milliande
Every year we have a Luau. I send handwritten invitations.
Do you have any ideas for a Luau theme? I am new to mixed media. I love the look.
Thank you
Colleen

~ now you got me there... I dont even know what Luau is..I am intriqued... hang on a minute while I go and google the word ...grin ... be right back ..
...fill in a humming background tune here ...
~ ahh I am back :-)))
~ so according to wikipedia
" A luau (in Hawaiian, lū‘au) is a Hawaiian feast. It may feature food, such as poi, kalua pig, poke, lomi salmon, opihi, haupia, and beer; and entertainment, such as Hawaiian music and hula. Among people from Hawaii, the concepts of "luau" and "party" are often blended, resulting in graduation luaus, wedding luaus, and birthday luaus."
` hmm so is there a special occasion for your luau celebration ?
~ to me if the theme centers around food and celebrating with food it might be a fun idea to use a local dish and make that the center piece of your mixed media collage...maybe photograph some dishes and do an acrylic gel medium transfer onto the invitations... or create a really large collage with different small images and layers... then cut the pieces up into little jigsaw puzzle shapes and give each guest a piece of the puzzle--- as they are each a puzzle piece that makes the whole party a success
~ Putting it out there... if anyone else has any great suggestion for a LUAH PART INVITATION .. we would love to here it
hope this helps

I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.
Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.
The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.
Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
