Art Activities Ideas

I spent 6 weeks this summer teaching kids ages 10-14 a Mixed Media Art Journal.

We spent most of the time painting backgrounds with different techniques starting out with a variety of paper.

Mostly we used brown paper bag material that we prepped with gesso.

Afterwards we turned all the papers into a 3 signature journal with a woven fiber binding.

On the painted pages they were able to collage and doodle to add journaling elements. Everyone seemed to love the process and finished product. Here is a link to my blog with pictures of this class.
