Milliande Art Snippets - Christmas Paper Arts at Harrods London Store
Christmas Time always brings out an extra ounce of creativity, especially for the window display designers of the world .
Wondering around the glittering artful displays in many of the big stores in London , especially at night time when everything is beautifully lit against the dark nights background , is great fun .
Having taken some friends around the famous Food halls in the Harrods store ...we left to take a peek at this years Christmas window displays.
Peter Pan was the chosen overall theme this year with many a glittering fairy grazing the various windows... but all a bit too fancy and sparkly for my liking.
However on one of the edge corners of the Harrods store adjacent to the Harvey Nichols side, I spotted a whole array of paper sculptures that were set on a landscape hill side arrange for a complete elevated view in the window.
I particularly loved the deep dark blue lighting created around some Paper Art featuring famous landmarks of the London Skyline .. from the Tower Bridge to Big Ben and the modern Gherkin building , London is brought to life and indeed light in the Paper Sculptures that set the scene.
Of course with its own self promotion, the HARRODS store featured prominently as a large magnificently lit building all in paper sculpture .. against the light it was not easy to tell whether they were cardboard or paper folds , or how the scene base was constructed.. but they made for a beautifully inspiring display nevertheless..

I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.
Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.
The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.
Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
