I used pencil to sketch the face and shading, then shaded over the face again using different colored pencils, the hair and background are a combination of golden fluid acrylics, pearlex, marker, stamps and ranger distress inkpads, a little white gel pen in the eye.

The butterfly is a sticker. It's not finished yet.

This is actually a journal entry I'm doing for an online workshop I'm taking and I'm having so much fun with journaling!

Also, this is the first time I've used a moleskine journal and I love it, despite it's steep price point, it accepts all of the media I used so well, without the paper buckling or wrinkling.

I'm just learning how to do faces, and of course it's not supposed to be realistic looking but I'm not in love with her nose...have to practice some more!

Thank you for submitting your art journal page

~ I enjoy the combination of the turquoise colors and the yellow for your mixed media background collage

~ You have captured a very mysterious look in her eyes and I enjoy the way the hair curls over to the second art journaling page

thanks for sharing, happy art journaling
