Artist Lorrie - Art Journal Pages Online 2010 Day 22 Gel medium tranfers

Art Journals Online - Art Journal January Day 22 Gel medium tranfers

Art Journal Online - Art Journaling by Artist Lorrie

~ Art Supplies used

Art Supplies:

Magazines
Stampers chalk
gel pens
stamps & pads
pen & india ink
golden gel medium

This was an absolute disaster. It went from bad to worse. There are actually 3 layers of gel transfers starting with angels & ending up with desserts! I finally realized that I wasn't applying enough moisture to the back of the magazine and so I wasn't able to get a good impression, it was mostly just gray. Anyway, I just stuck with it. The next time I do a gel transfer it will work better I'm sure. Not pleased with it but that's ok.

I decided to think of it kind of like life: there are many layers beneath the surface and only we can know what lies beneath :o

Thank you for submitting your art journal page

~ gel medium transfers take a little practice... a lot can depend on the quality of the magazine page, the texture of the receiving paper in your art journal ..they type of gel medium used and indeed the amount of pressure applied when doing the gel transfer itself ... I only use a damp cloth to rub down the gel medium tranfer..and i use a circluar motion so as to avoid braking the magazine page...

~ Sometimes when i have used a little too much gel medium ... parts of the gel medium transfer work on one side and the part with too much gel medium does not...

~ In the end it really is a bout trial and error playing with the art supplies that you have to find a solution that works for you ..good luck

thanks for sharing, happy art journaling
