" How to do a Birthday Collage " Hey Milliande ..I was planning to make a collage for my friend for his birthday.. I have his different photographs..his different expressions. Can u suggest me some nice idea as to how can i go about it? i'll be very grateful! I really learnt a lot with your art videos. Mixed Media Art Question submitted by Shreya Modi India ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Hi Shreya What a fun idea to make hime a birthday collage ... there are several ways I could think would be fun to make a birthday collage . ~ You say you have photographs available for use ... so making gel medium transfers to include some of the photographs on your collage canvas could be fun ~ or get a photo where the whole figure is seen and gesso parts of it over ..then repaint .. ie you could gesso over the hair and add some funky hair and a birthday hat .. or gesso over his clothes and paint some new clothes to integrate into the background ~ if he has some favorite hobbies or activities you could fin collage pieces that match these .. eg if you likes football ... find some footballs and add it to the photograph ..then collage a football pitch background ... or whatever else his hobby maybe ~ you could also make a collage of his favorite foods ... surrounded by some of his photographs .. and paint or collage a birthday table full of all his favorites..including a giant birthday cake ( if you celebrate birthdays like that in India ..I am not sure ... :-) I believe a lot of the celebratory traditions in Indi may differ from the European ones ... but you get the idea ~ or you could add some photographs of yourself and/or his friends to the collage ...all congratualing him for his birthday ... you could add photos of peoples heads and add them into a vehicle driving to his party ... collage a bus, a hot air balloon , a tuc tuc piled high with birthday guests and presents , a bicycle chain ...etc ~ If you have photos of different facial expressions you coudl do a collage about his likes and dislikes ... like faced with a food he dislikes .. you could have one photo ... faced with something he loves.. collage a different face ..
