Mixed Media Art Questions for Milliande
I am new to the site and just love it,I am trying to absorb as much of the great information as I can. I have a problem, I posted in the Daises, but I haven't heard back and wanted to know if you would help.
I need advice, I am retired and on a fixed budget, but was interested in trying Digital Art, I found the following on line -Adobe Photoshop CS3 V.10 for $175, which is within my budget. Now the question, is this sufficient to do digital art?
I have sent messages to a couple of the firefly's (Digital Art and Artful Artisan) in the last few days and have not got any response either, so maybe I am doing something wrong?
THANKS FOR PUTTING UP SUCH A AWESOME SITE.

Mixed Media Art Questions answered by Milliande
Hi Marlene,
I am glad you are enjoying our art community , it is a busy little creative hive now with over 3100 members.. a pool of inspiration .
Re Photoshop CS .. I would say any of the photoshop software, even the older versions are sufficient for doing digital artwork .
As long as the program can inport a picture, alter it with different settings of opacity, sharpness, colored filters etc ..and then add layers to create altered digital collages it is fine .. I believe Photoshop 10 is quite capable of that .
I personally use paintshop pro and the smaller version of the Photoshop family called "Photoshop Elements" as I have found it more user friendly for the way I comprehend information and with enough features to play with what I do ,...but then I am not a digital artist per se, I just dabble a bit ..
I will put the question out here, so that members may jump in with their own recommendations for creating digital art
hope this helps
..milliande

I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.
Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.
The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.
Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
