Mixed Media Art Questions
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hi Milliande,
It's me again, Camille. With my questions on Video making and uploading.
I am a PC user and have XP installed on my machine. I was recently given a Sony digital camcorder, which records right to its HardDrive. When I want to put the files on my computer I hook up via a USB cable and the program it came with downloads the files onto my machine.
The trouble comes in when I go to use Windows Movie Maker as it will not accept the file. They are MPEG-2 files and the Movie Maker has no conversion for that type file.
I am stuck at the very start. That is why I asked about what program you use and have asked others what they use. It is starting to look like I need to make an investment in some software in order to do video responce.
So any tips you could give me to point me on the right path would be most helpful.
Thank you
Camille
~ take a peek here for files that are associated with Windows Moviemaker
~ Although you can play a lot of moviefiles with similar extensions you may not be able to import them into moviemaker
~ I use a camera video function for some of the recording I do and it records in .mov format which is not compatible with my software..so i need to convert too ..
~ The Video Processing software I use is called Pinnacle
~ The Format Converter I use is a program called wondershare ... http://www.wondershare.com/multimedia/index.html#1
I use the wondershare video converter platinum .. there is a free trial available to see whether it works for your settings and it is compatible with windows xp ..
Hope this helps a little... it took me a long time to figure out waht is best for my set up -- re video camera for art movies ..photo cameras for on the go movies and how it all fits together in the end ..a learnign curve..but good luck
