Mixed Media Art Questions for Milliande
I saw your videos how to make your own stamps. It really inspired me. So bought the tools and i started with it. I made something with circles. It was fun to do and it was nice to use it in a art journal.
But now i am wondering if there is something i could use for ideas.
Example i saw your making a swirl. Where did you get the picture from?
Sorry for my English, i come from Holland
I really want to thank you for all the inspiration.
Greetings Sandra

Mixed Media Art Questions answered by Milliande
Ideas for making my own stamps can come from many sources, often I draw a circle or a spiral to fit the size I am after, If I like a particular image then I might try an image search on google ..or take a peek at some of the printables on http://www.milliande-printables.com to see whether an image might be suitable for what I am after
The trick with image searches is to be precise in what you are looking for ans rather than using an ordianry search on google do an image search -- there is a little button under the advanced tab that lets one specify the exact search term which helps narrowing the search results down ..
If the images are for non-profit personal use then any images found in a magazine, in a library picture collection can be traced ... childrens books often have fun and simple images that lend themselves well to be made into stamps
Dover has an extensive clipart collection .. which offer copyright free images that can easily be adapted for making stamps ... often the outline os silhouttes for stencil designs are easy enough to carve too
hope this helps

I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.
Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.
The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.
Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
