Mixed Media Artists Wishlists

Gifts for Artists ...here is Jan's List

Surprisingly I found this to be a very difficult task. I guess that is why I have waited until the last minute to post my response. I am so used to limiting my resources, but here goes!

1. Black gesso - I am in my black and white phase and think it would be cool to experiment.

2. canvases of various sizes - I would really like to make some art for the garden area. Can't you see the big poppy paintings on easels in the garden area?

3. A gourd saw (and power supply) would be very cool - especially for those hard shelled California gourds.

4. I would like to try using a burin on metal for printing.

5. But... not knowing how to do etching would require a class - I know there would be a good one in Seattle at one of the art schools.

6. I would like to try the Golden Gel medium sampler pack - soft gel, molding paste, self-leveling, etc.

7. A speedball press is wishful thinking on steroids.

8. To take Mary Margaret Brigg's botanical workshop would be a stretch.

9. A couple more colors of Dr. Ph Martin's liquid watercolors would be super.

10. A gift certificate to Daniel Smith's - store of wonders. Good for hours of entertainment... just wandering the rows, dreaming....

I wish I could go behind the scenes and see how they grind the paints at Daniel Smith
