Gifts for Artists - A Trip to Brisbane QLD home to my favourite artists

Gifts for Artists - A Trip to Brisbane QLD home to my favourite artists

Mixed Media Artists Wishlists
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Gifts for Artists ...here is Marcy's List
1)A working camera!
Most of my collage and paperart includes my photos and as I have two great cameras that have both had succumbed to tragedy due to unplanned meetings with the ground, just one fixed would be great. I promise to place said cameras out of reach of young inquisitive children if only I could get at least one working again!!! I am lost without a camera and I feel as if a limb has been removed and then....salt rubbed into the wound every time I take a half baked picture with my phone!( TAKING PHOTO's with a 2mega pixel camera should be illegal and MUST be some violation of the Geneva convention....as when it comes time to see the resulting pictures it is torture!!! LOL)
2)A trip to visit Milliande in person this totally amazing woman blows my mind with her both talent and huge awe inspiring spirit. That may be too much so how about ....A trip to Brisbane where my other favorite artists reside and the hub of papercraft inspiration exists. I have longed to go there for a long time and even though its only hours away life provides neither the vehicle or the means. So much artistic vibe to absorb far more than can be imagined out here where I am in my little country town!
3)I crave Knowledge - heaps of it art books/DVDs reference material on collage, art mediums, distressing altering anything and everything to play, try and inspire!!!
4)The material things like mediums, paints, journals that don't get bought because money needs to be wasted on electricity bill and the like! LOL Especially Tim Holtz distress ink pads and yummy amazing alcohol inks and their tools.
5)A full size easel. I am about to make a new years resolution to put myself out into the world and join my local art group, make some friends of my ilk and test my artistic abilities and see if I can paint "real" pictures.
6)Paints and brushes for above mentioned adventure.
7) Art materials of any sort I can share with one of my online friends who is disadvantaged and confined to a wheelchair. Her scrapbooking and online world means alot to her and she is a constant revelation to me as she faces hardship and inspires me with her humor and strength.
8)Share the love I say...this year I met IRL another online friend who's just beginning her artistic journey. She's just the loveliest giving and supporting friend. Through the course of the last couple of years we have formed a strong friendship and I have seen more and more of herself coming out as her art developed. I understand how terribly hard it must be in a little country town, artistically unsupported with four young children to find both time, resources and funds to allow yourself to develop and enjoy the self expression and pleasure of creating. So my wish is the same again any help, materials/mediums, reading resources and or tuition that may help her blossom to her full potential is my wish for her.
9)sharing the love again....anything I can RAK to the people who read my blog, their comments are so supportive funny and just add fuel to my passion.
10) I wish good and wondrous things for Milliande, who supports, nurtures and inspire women's art and creates a home that validates what it means to create from the heart in whatever form it takes!!!That everyone should know about the wonderful Milliande site and take a journey to their own artist selves ( and buy her lots of coffees for Milliande on the way!LOL)
Merry Christmas Milliande... May 2010 be stronger, bigger, brighter and more tecnicoloured year than the last for www.Milliande.com :) ;)
I wish I may, I wish I might, have any of these wishes I wish tonight!
