DO you mean the pen and ink ?

~ I use a pen holder such as would be used for calligraphy writing and a nib that attaches into the holder

~ My penholder I purchased when I went to an Art Retreat in Italy last year , it is manuafactured by a company called Giovanni Riela Artigianato Italiano "

~ The nib is a very long but fine pointed steel nib that can be found in the calligraphy section of art stores or a specialist store that may carry letter writing tools

~ I use a variety of nibs, mainly those that have a large holding reservoir and can work with the thicker density of the acrylic inks i use ..as opposed to calligraphy writing inks

~ I work with a pencil underneath and then apply either india ink on top .. both in soluble or non s water soluble form dpending on what effect I am going for

~ If I work in white I prefer to use acrylic inks .. some from windsor and newton, some Daler Rowney depending on the colours

hope this helps

Artist Statement

I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.

Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.

The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.

I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.

Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
