Mixed Media Art Questions for Milliande
I am looking for pocket watch cases for mixed media. I have seen some in one of Tim Holtz books that look new and appeared to be made just for mixed media. The book provided a site to purchase but they no longer carry the pocket watch case. I do not want to put the money out for antique pocket watch cases. Can you help?
Thanks, Lu
Mixed Media Art Questions answered Milliande
Personally I do not know of any online supplier that specialises in Mixed Media Art Supplies that stocks pocket watch cases...
I usually buy mine from ebay ... looking for people that sell mixed bundles of old discarded watchparts ... last time I had 2 pocket watch cases amongst all sorts of other little bits and bobs for mixed media assemblage art ..like watch parts, gears, springs etc .. but I guess its pot luck
It is also worth checking local yard sales/ car boot sales etc if they have those where you live
Antique watches are usually too expensive to be utilised for mixed media art ..so looking for discarded , non functioning clock parts that can be salvaged and repurposed is what I do ..
Maybe someone else can jump in if they know of an online supplier that carries mixed media pocket watch blanks ??
Have you tried contacting Tim Holtz direct ( I know he is on facebook too and runs a blog) and ask him whether he has any recommendations since the suggested supplier no longer carries them ?
hope this helps

The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
