Mixed Media Art Question for Milliande
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
In the tutorial, you drew a portrait of a woman's full face and then took some kind of medium which obscured half of her face, but you could still see some of the features but very lightly peaking through the obscured side of the face... Is it a glaze of some sort? or what?
I don't have a credit card in order to send you a donation, but if you could give me your full name and address, I can send a cashier's check from my bank here in Canada...I don't have a lot of money, but hope you will not be offended by my humble offering...
Thank you so much for your art and for giving so freely of you time, effort and spirit! Love, Barbara Daune xox
~ Thank you for your kind comments about my art ..and the offer for a donation ... I am happty to accept your well wishes .. and take them with gratitude ... bank charges between our contires are probably higher to make it worthwhile ..but I appreciate the tought :-))
~ As to the video .. did you mean the one I posted above ?
~ That is a glaze .. and I used Goldens Glazing Liquid ...
~ Glazing Liquid literally is a tranparent glaze that can also be tinted to give a different transluscent effect ..
~ I often mix goldens glazing liquid with goldens fluid acrylic if I want to have a thinner more transparent color and in the case of the face in this art video ...I wanted some of the features to shine through from underneath which worked well with the glazing liquid
hope this helps
I am intriqued by the notion of universal consciousness and choose to peek closely at the small particles that make up existence.
Human and living form cell biology, the interplay of microcosm and macrocosm, quantumphysics and the spiritual connection to the Self all nurture me with an endless stream of inspiration.
The female form and its nature of being, the beauty of motherhood, viewing the world in fragments rather than wholes and the palpable energy exchange and communication between them are central themes in my artwork.
I enjoy making the invisible visible and creating openended visual artworks that invite the viewer to explore deeper within their own layers of perception.
Contemporary Mixed media art techniques provide a rich playground for my artistic impulses and allow room for an individual approach to the multilayered facets of my artwork.
