Question about Cheesecloth

Mixed Media Art Questions - Art Supplies
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Hello everyone.
I recently came across a bag of cheesecloth in my studio and was wondering what I could do with it in my art.
Any clues? I figured maybe I could use it to add texture to pages, possibly adhering it with gel medium, with the same concept of tissue paper. Any help is appreciated! thanks
~ I love cheesecloth for all sorts of fibre crafts, it dyes well too .. try soaking it in a bit of coffee it makes a lovely vintage type effect on the cheese cloth
~ I also use it in between my needle felting , I own an embellisher needlefeting machine .. layered between woolfibres it gives an interesting texture
~ the strands of the cheesecloth can also be taken apart .. pulling afew strands out can create a window type effect which can be fun to use as a textural element on an art journal page or a mixed media canvas painting ..
~ for art journaling and printmaking cheesecloth is useful for mopping up excess color and distributing it in textural patterns around the page .. and yes it can also be adhered with a gelmedium, I love
Golden Acrylic Gel Mediums
.. the soft gel matte being my favourite as it dries clear and without a residue
Hope this helps
