silver wires and findings - best combinations

I really appreciate the support and the information you're giving.

I have two problems with the jewelry that I'm making, I always worry about the silver wires and the findings that I'm making from oxidizing. I know it's because it's real, but I once bought a silver necklace from a jewelry designer, that was 10 years ago, and the color of the silver never changed. Do you have any idea how can I maintain the silver color, especially that my pieces have gemstones too. And now I've introduced copper to the pieces but the same issue remains - maintaining their color.

On another note, could you please advise how can my silver findings become stronger. I'm always worried that the shape would change if they're pulled or somethings. I read a lot about this and I know I'm using the right guages. I mostly use 20 guage wires.

Hi Shatha,

and thanks for your jewellery related question ... I am not familiar with silversmithing or which are the best silver techniques to use for jewellery work . My experience only goes as far as dabbling with mixed media altered art jewellery pices..
