The process was, and still is, a journey. I have done some form of art since childhood, however, I'm not formally trained at all. Quilting and scrapbooking evolved to mixed media and here I have remained happily and most content. I love the process of cutting and pasting, painting and inking, repurposing and recycling.
I love art journaling as an expression for my life's journey. I have VERY DIFFICULT teenage sons and this art form allows me to express my frustration, as well as my love for them, without exploding! (I truly understand why some mothers eat their young!) Without my art journals, I would be lost.
There are no supplies that I use more than others, except perhaps, my gluestick. I use anything that is sitting on my work table, especially the smallest of scraps. I buy cheap paints (gloss) but spend good money on my pens. I collage on repurposed grocery boxes because I like the weight. I don't use bound books because they frustrate me; all my pages are loose. And I work on many journals at once.
As for what challenges me the most? Finding the time to spend in my studio. I wish there were more hours in my day...
BTW...I couldn't upload my art in this application. I have no idea why...
