textured paper NEW
by: Janeen Duer

My mom used to use textured wallpapers in her art work all the time. She used to pick up old wallpaper books and discontinued wallpaper rolls from decorating shops and do-it-yourself sections of hardware stores and such all the time. She used to grab some really wild ones from yards sales and stuff too.

I used to make my own textured paper by embossing scrapbook papers with stamps and embossing powder. I'd pick one color of powder, a bunch of papers that I thought would look good with the color and just stamp and emboss myself silly. I used to have a woman that made cards who would actually have me make some for her for card making. I was doing scrapbook collage (didn't use any wet glues. paints, or glazes) only stamp pads to add to my decorated papers. I also found finding plain white textured papers in the scrapbook section fun to color with stamp pads and embossing powder too. The batches were small, but lots of fun.
