The texture paper for Neverdull

by Rita
(USA)

Mixed Media Art Questions for Milliande
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I saw you and your daughter use Never Dull.
In the video you two worked on a couple of magazine pages on top of a white textured big paper.
In the USA texture papers are expensive enough that we could not afford to waste a page and the pages are small.
Please tell me where you get your texture paper from. Maybe I can order some online.
Thank You both, Rita
Mixed Media Art Questions answered by Milliande
Hi Rita :-)
The textured paper we played with in the Neverdull video was infact wallpaper / wall covering.
These kinds of textured wallpapers come in all kinds of patterns and shaped textures, from more abstract designs like lines, dots and square patterns to more intricate floral designs and decorative patterns.
Here textured wallpapers are often used when there are walls that are uneven as the patterns tend to stick out and play over the uneven bits .
That makes them suitable for the rubbing texture technique as they are quite pronounced pattern that resist a bit of pressure well so that the pattern is easily transferred with the neverdull ..or in case of the rubbing down technique from magazines the color is taken away from the pattern texture bits that produde out from the wall covering paper ..
Here in the UK we can buy plain non-colored textured wallpaper that is meant to be painted upon once it is adhered to the wall .. so for the neverdull transfer rubbing technique it is ideal as there is no other color interfering with the process ..
Hope this helps
