Windows to The Soul Art Journal

Windows to The Soul Art Journal

I had a few ideas in mind for this project, but once I received Etayne's journal and read what she had written in the front of it I decided to make my entry a more personal one.

I started off by using a mottled background paper as a base, and onto that I used a small piece of sheet music partially covered by an open heart with both wings and a crown. This was to represent my love for music of all types, and how it lifts my spirits, and how it has been an embodiment of satifaction and of aid and comfort to me during some of the most difficult and wonderful times in my life.

I then printed off a photograph of a place that is special to me, which is not only beautiful to look at but a wonderful place to spend time in. I have found it to be somewhere that is special to me to assist me in gathering my thoughts and focusing on my dreams, ideas and goals for the future.

The eyes were added in from a portrait that I cut down and coloured to draw attention to the page. I wrote my interpretation of windows to the Soul on a sheet of velum in a permanent black pigment pen and then made an envelope styled holder to put it in.

The book mark of flowing hearts carried more words on both front and back. I have tried to keep the whole page fairly simple and uncluttered, so that the clarity of the message comes through. That is to say that being true to oneself ensure that the windows to the soul remain transparent.

I hope those seeing my entry feel as inspired by it as I did upon creating it.

Love and hugs,

Helen
