Art Journals Online Art Prompt Video Series with Milliande ..It is that time of the year again .Art Journal January ..a time to crack open a brand new art journal and let me and my muse loose amongst it's pages. I am interested in playing art ..not for any particular outcome in mind but for the sake of the process, of pushing myself to explore my limitations, my creative boundaries and then push a little harder to break right through them if my muse is game :-) Art Journaling or Visual Journaling is becoming increasingly popular as an artform in and of itself . How to keep a journal or indeed how to keep an art journal is an individual choice each artist makes. Some keep a sketchbook type journal noting donw snippets of each days activities, interesting things spotted and doodle sketches. Some create more of a diary like art journal workign through the emotions and problems of each day . Some keep a journal with ideas for larger art projects . There is no right or wrong way on How to keep an Journal . Keeping an Art Journal can be as simple as one daily diary to keeping art journal stacks .. for different types of journaling .. the choice is endless and one can get as creative as the muse dictates .

Mixed Media Milliande Videos Art Journal January 2011 Summary As many Mixed Media Artists like myself, I tend to go through phases of using different art supplies, playing with photography, art journaling, mixed media painting and fibre arts ... mostly . Some of my favorite art supplies pen and ink drawing pens and dipping pens, watercolor aquabrushes and acrylic paints.. How to Paint ..How to Draw .. How to be Creative..these are questions many beginner artists ask themselves ..yet there is no hard and fast rule .. here I share my process the way I taught myself how to paint.. the way I learned how to draw ..the way I play art .. I dont belive there are mistakes in art making it simply is how I express myself at the time I pick up a tube of paint..swing a pencil or carve a stamp ... no validity is necessary for me.. so take a peek at my process if you like in these how to video tutorials for mixed media art
For the past few years I have also created Art Journal January Videos Series, challenging myself on how long I can last in January to Art Journal and Video Tutorial a Page a day .. I have yet to manage a full month ;-) ...but here I will share all the art journaling videos day by day .. Sometimes the muse is challenged when put under time pressure... sometimes she simply thrives on the challenge.. so I let each day arise as it comes..rest assured all videos will remain available long after january has been put to rest :-)

Starting out at the end ...Z for Zebra's
I am intriqued by the idea of staying focussed on a particular design inspiration idea and seeing how far , how differently and how creatively I can interpret that idea ..and most importantly for those who have followed art journal january for the last few years ... for HOW LONG can I last :-)
So to start this years Art Journal January ..I am beginning at the end .. with Z for Zebra ..
I am intending to be inspired by shape, form, line ,object and texture to see what my muse comes up with when she plays for Z for Zebra I intend to challenge myself to see how far I can take this concept, how I can jump out of my own box of what I perceive a Zebra Pattern to be... come and play with me ..
Ok I lasted 12 Days with the Zebra ...now my muse refuses to think of any more stripes...giggle..lets she what she wants to play with next :-)
